Texas | I bought a 2012 ecoboost. The first new truck I ever bought. Tons of power, really nice ride and cab, fuel mileage was horrible empty and when towing light loads. I struggled to get 5 mpg towing a 18' utility trailer with an atv and UTV on it. Got 12-14 empty. When back the dealer numerous times with no help. The truck did have mud tires (a little bigger than stock but no lift or anything like that), grill guard, tool box, diesel tank, air compressor. Dealer said those things together caused increased load and the turbos to always be spoiled up and it to suck fuel. I traded it off after having it about six months. My 10,000lb dually with a flatbed gets better mpg. I have a buddy with a bone stock ecoboost and empty bed and he routinely gets over 20.
