Was talking to the salesman here. His policy covers any flight by his company and his company is the only one operating at our hospital and in this local area. If a helo is needed and the one here is not available and another company is called in, it will all be on the patient. I asked him if the accepted medicare patients and he said yes. At that point I told him I didn't need the policy because I have medicare and a supplemental policy that would cover the rest.

That said, Medicare will only cover medical flights or even ambulance trips that are deemed necessary and only to the nearest hospital that has the necessary equipment to care for you
