![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=9649&type=profile&rnd=662) King City, Mo | How long do you plan to farm the acres your farming?
3 years or 10 or 30 or even 50??
We live in a world wanting instant gratification and sometimes liquid may do that but charge a premium for the result. Zinc can be built up in the soil and when you look at things down the road and spending $15 or $25 an acre on something every year for 10-50 years really adds up. So fix it now so when your old it just takes maintence to keep it up.
I try and build up when times are good and then if times get tough we can cut back and maintence and still be good to go.
The cost and hassle of liquid has not interested me either. The cost of liquid K is extremely expensive vrs dry K and my soil needs more k. Storage equipment/tendering equipment and product salting out plus compatibility issues and having lines plug on the planter plus more stuff to keep working while trying to plant doesn't excite me. I can go out in the fall or early spring and spread fertilizer when it's too cold to plant and have all of that out of the way when things are slow.
