I have the same Idea, buying a converted tug, diesel power with gen, sleeping, cooking, everything like home, and doc it on lake Michigan. Live in it in the summer. Move it to the Gulf for the winter months. No more lawns to mow or property taxes to pay. Probably a small boat fee on the lake and some diesel fuel and that's it.
