Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | The city of Lake Havasu has pretty decent water at very reasonable prices. The water is about exactly opposite in mineral load from what we're getting from the Missouri so softeners are needed to replace the calcium drawn in from the caliche soils. Here the water has a bit of sodium so it is considered soft. If it hadn't been for forward thinking folks from California that banded together almost 100 years ago to build the Parker Dam, there wouldn't be much around Havasu, or Phoenix, or Tucson today. Politicians and bureaucrats with vision earned their keep and a lot of folks owe them thanks. |
