Subject: Irrigation air vents

I want to talk about irrigation air vents. Are they needed? Not talking flat ground of the delta but rolling ground. In my opinion a pivot is one big air vent. We have one air vent on a 2500' pivot and the pivot still blows air for a while.

I'm not too cheap to install them, just would rather not have to farm around them. A local farmer doesn't install them and hasn't blown a pipe out yet. Also a guy that installs irrigation on golf courses says they are a waste of money. Opinions and personal experiences??
