Interesting to read this. Rural supplied water "here" (NE IL) is unheard of, unless some major city/village has run a line out for subdivision housing. Or, as in another case a few miles from me, public water had to be supplied after a pipeline leaked MTBE into many-many rural private wells. I don't think a pipeline leaking ethanol would even have a complaint lodged against it....but MTBE left a "sour taste" in many mouths of this area. But, again, most farmers or country based folks in this area would probably just stare at you for a while if you asked if water was supplied to them via pipeline. They might then answer, "why yes, we have a 1" plastic pipeline from the well to the pressure tank....". |
