The motor drain is a case drain and, as such, needs to be connected to the tractor case drain, not return. No, the solenoid valve has nothing to do with case drain. In the simplest of terms, the motor shaft has two seals and the case drain port(s) are machined between the seals to allow for seepage to escape and not travel past the second seal into the CCS plenum.
