Eastern Iowa | Shortly after I started farming, the county entertained the idea of a rural water utility. They had a couple meetings, but it didn't get anywhere. They dropped it like a hot potato after getting feedback from a few of the meeting locations. I was against it for purely selfish reasons, having dug a new well just a few months prior. Many of the folks around here have rusty or sulfur smelling water, but ours is good here. The farm has two wells now, one is good, the other a couple hundred feet away much deeper and into the sulfur. | |
