| grain farm or livestock? I went to college ag program a year and didn't waste anymore of my money to go back. I learn more talking to vets/nutritionist/ other producers than I did in college. If you want to grain farm get a job helping a crop consultant. You'd learn a lot, maybe get a cut rate on his services. On the job experience is better than reading a book to learn if you ask me and you get paid doing it. I drive truck hauling cattle in my spare time. Right now I probably make more doing that. This week I made 700 for the two days I drove. Some log book pages got re wrote but that's the way it is. I still think about taking some individual college courses to help improve my weak spots. Grain elevators and packing plants bids are the same wether you have a degree or not. | |
