| Just a little bit of clarification for the location the OP is in.
In Canada, what we refer to as a "college" is closer to what is known in the US as a public community college, or a private trade school. They only grant diplomas, max 3 years.
All of the degree-granting institutions in Canada (with a few special exceptions like theology) are "universities". There is no such thing as a "college degree", and there are hardly any privately run universities.
In not knocking our colleges, I attended one rather then my bro & sis who went to university, and never regretted the decision.
