Franklinton, LA | If time permits you would probably enjoy going north or south of Ashville on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway north of Ashville has numerous interesting stops for tourists. The area southeast of Cherokee is really nice and the drive from Cherokee to Gatlinburg and then Cades Cove is really nice. Most of the real farming in NC is well east of Ashville.
