North Central Illinois | You have every right to be upset and I would also want it done correctly. You need to be a little tactful about how you approach this though. Some of the hard line suggestions here will probably yield you little more than a shouting match with someone. This is the general contractors responsibility. You need to respectfully tell him that you just don't think you will be happy with anything other than having it redone. I suspect contractors have some type of insurance to cover major screw ups like this. If he throws a fit I would then speak with an attorney. This could lead to a very long and protracted battle and you still won't have everything done the way you want. Keep in mind if you get nasty with him or threaten legal action he may very well fix the problem but find ways to screw you on other things with the rest of the build. Your other option is to decide to live with the issues and demand financial compensation. | |
