2 other options are ONSTAR or buy a ford. My fiancé can lock or unlock her car anywhere in the world and my Ford truck has the keypad on the door. sometimes I purposely lock the keys in it so I don't lose them.

I have a 2015 Ford Edge that doesn't have real keys, it has the transmitter that you can carry with you. so the door unlocks when you approach the vehicle. There is just a big button to start/stop the car.

I just leave the transmitter in the car. This means that anyone could start the car if I don't lock the doors. If I try to lock the doors with the transmitter in the car, they will reopen. However, I can purposely lock the doors with the transmitter inside by using the keypad on the door.

I swear that a few times, it has locked when I had not intended it to but this hasn't been a problem since the keypad has always opened the door when I enter the correct code.
