Hello JPT

Since ihfarms is vaccinating for "blackleg", did you make this statement because he is administering the vaccine in the fall rather than at birth....and thus his calves would be vulnerable to contact it over summer up until they are worked in the fall???

(I am asking because not too many years ago it was thought that calves were safe (from blackleg) up to about 8 months via colostral  antibody protection, and indeed vaccinating earlier would also be "neutralized" by those same antibodies, so it was thought.  Now it looks like the "rules have been changed"....?  And am curious if that is the reason for your statement.  Thanks
