Intrigued; what do you farm? Livestock operation? Are you native to Portugal? How many acres?
Last summer holidays with girls in Seville had to fly home with stop in Porto; met quite a few north americans who have made Portugal their home. When bbbreezy finally retires would like a small home somewhere in southern Europe and although we speak no Portugese it is on the list :)

I am a dairy farmer, born and raised in Holland. Currently milking 620 cows, own a little over 700 acres here. Not all farmable though. We have an irrigation lake that is almost 100 acres when full. Lots of land around that lake is steep, rocks, trees. Useless. So we plant probably 500 acres. Have pivots to irrigate. Grow corn in summer and grass in winter. Outside irrigation only triticale in the winter.
There are many people from other countries that come here to retire, or to get away from cold winters in their own country |
