Thanks dave never thought of clear coat. Will do that today.
Hope it last longer than a year but we did sand no primer. We did use a bonding agent that my friend at the body shop said I needed to use on stainless steel. Looked like paint thinner wiped it on and let dry. Also made sure my paint had harding in it.
