Subject: Kinze Radar vs Magnetic Pickup Sensor

Ossian, IN
On our new to us Kinze 3000, the radar likes to come and go. Based on the sticker, the radar has already been reconditioned once by Ag Express. So we are considering switching over to the factory magnetic pickup/distance sensor.

Our planter is radar only, so we have to buy the kit to add the distance sensor. They Kinze dealer wasn't sure if everything was included to switch it over, but was curious if others knew. I thought I've read that we'd also need an analog to digital adapter cable maybe? The kit itself is about $138.

Others have mentioned to just get a 5 Hz GPS sensor from Sensor-1. If to go that route, do you have to call them to specifically get once that connects to the KPMII? Or for Sensor-1, is it just the 4-AMP connector/Dickey John 4-AMP? To even get a 5 Hz, looking at $450. They also have a Garmin GPS sensor, but still $400.
