ecmn | looks lean. can you get a picture of the top?
there is no visible wash for the intake ports or the undamaged exhaust side. major lean would erode the exhaust side of the piston. right on the edge will transfer a little material.
if its nicasil get some muratic acid and clean it. if its cast iron see what a hone can do first.
Line to line makes some impressive coatings for these little engines.
you can also do micro blue to the engine. oil is not an issue then.
we had a Polaris 800 twin that is known for blowing up. did the line to line coatings on the piston sides and a ceramic on the top of the piston and it has outlasted any of the "fix it kits" that the after market sells. almost impossible to burn it down now. | |
