I read the article on my foxnews app and never read anything about anyone representing him pro bono. I wonder what the cost was to fight it?
"This is a victory for common sense and the environment, and it brings an end to all the uncertainty and fear that the Johnson family faced,” said Jonathan Wood, a staff attorney with Pacific Legal Foundation who represented Andy Johnson in his court challenge to the EPA, and in negotiating the settlement.
There are legal foundations like this that are funded by donations and lobbying money. Not unlike the NRA, Farm Bureau and such.
I have seriously thought of supporting a legal defense organization like this one, because of cases like this. I want to be very sure I know exactly what I am supporting though.
edit: I wanted to also add that a local congressman told me one time there are actually federal monies available to cover legal costs to sue our own government. The liberal environmentalists and civil rights groups have been using this money for years to bring up these legal challenges. It is ridiculous beyond belief. It is a little known scam that some conservatives have been trying to put a stop to. It is under the heading of "Equal Access to Justice" fund or some such sounding thing.
