Subject: Cancelling out my wife's vote?

Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Maybe this isn't "political" as I am not going to talk about any political parties, or mention candidates by name, or even the specific race. More of a philosophical question.

So we have an election coming up (run-off), and I am leaning towards one candidate, and she is leaning towards the other. I do not feel extremely attracted to either one as they both have their flaws. I do have some very specific things I am looking for in a candidate, and my candidate I think has those particular qualities. I would like for both of us to vote for one. My candidate of course.

But the thing is, if we go and cancel each other out, what is the point? We didn't make any statement at all? Didn't move the needle for any kind of change. I feel flexible enough I would almost rather not vote and let her pick the candidate so we can at least say we made a "decision".

I mean if two ball clubs were going to a game they knew neither one would win, why even have the game?
