south east Indiana | It is not just the horse rather than an ATV that makes the difference. Yes cattle learn quickly they can out maneuver an ATV, one side step and they have you.
It is the horse, dog and person with patience and stockmanship that makes a difference. It starts the second you enter the pasture even the cattle can not see you. If you and the help stay calm, confident and work them easy waiting when needed - giving time to think it usually goes well. When you rush or hurry and are tense the horse, dog and cattle are Not Thinking - they are Reacting.
Heck just riding a 3yr old would make me take it slow these days :) Nice to see guys who are real stockman work | |
