friend took a motorcycle trip up thru canada and into alaska last summer and said a local told him if DEET products wouldn't work to cover himself with vicks or mentholatem and then wear the deet wrist and ankle bands as well. He said it worked in Canada better than any of the sprays and he was practically bathing in them.
