There is video on youtube that shows a flax straw stockpile burning with such intensity that it makes its own fire tornado and picks up a pickup truck, lifts it, and then spits it out. Luckily, no one was in the vehicle or they'd have been killed in the fall. Firestorms are nothing to mess with and this is a prime example. If it wasn't so sad, it would be amusing to watch so called experts spout off on how easy it is to control a wild fire. Saw it with the Texas wildfires a year or so back, and the Aussies have to put up with the same thing. The truth of the matter is; until nature decides to quench the fire, it will keep on burning. Best thing Ft. McMurray area residents could hope for is a late spring snowstorm that drops several inches of wet, heavy snow. Otherwise, it's probably going to continue to burn until this winter.
