South central Minnesota | Been through a few years where we couldn't get everything planted, 2013 was the last time. Your right about how it tests you, every cloud seems to open up on top of you and it just doesn't stop but it will, You'll get time. How do you cope, reading this or much of anything on nat doesn't help so time away from here certainly won't hurt. Spend some away time from the farm with family, stress can hurt the family more than what a year like this can financially. In 13 we finally quit trying on the last 50 acres after the 4th of July rolled by, no crop insurance will keep you trying :) still don't carry it but I'm still here but I did save up for those rainy days, some didn't. These are called character building years and you'll find you're never too old to do that. As my father always said you can always plant buckwheat. | |
