Thank you so much for the insight. I just joined the local coop here but most of the folks around my part of the Shenandoah valley seems to be livestock, cows, cows, and more cows. I am going to see if they can refer me to someone here that does sweet corn. The majority of our place is under forestry and the old ag fields have not been maintained in a few decades. The guy before me mainly timbered it. I have found about another 40 acres of what was once tillable. Just need to keep working it stump by stump. My hope is to ramp up over the few years and I reclaim the fields. I would like to try soy beans as well next year.
