I have them on everything that doesn't have a SMV sign on it. Cars, pick ups, bikes. I believe in them.
Had a friend ( deceased) who had a lot of trucks on the road. He did a year long study on the ones that ran through the UP. They ended up installing them on all the trucks. He believed they worked. Don't recall how many trucks now, over 200 maybe.
As long as they weren't full of bugs that is they worked.
I haven't hit a deer in many years. Fact is, haven't used my vehicle insurance in many years. Still pay my premiums, still put deer whistles on every vehicle.
This comes up once a year or so on NAT. 50% either way I'd guess. For the 5 or 6 bucks ti install them, seems like a pretty cheap accessory.
I have 3 sets each on a car and 2 pickups. On the car it is one set down low on the bumper where optional driving lights would be, one set on the mirrors, and one set on the roof rack. Similar spacing on the pickups. So far, so good. |
