The NDRA was a great circuit to watch and race on. Earl Smith has to be 78 yrs old and still races occasionally here at little Talladega short track. His youngest son died of cancer a couple of yrs ago and now I think Earls grandson is racing, of course Earl is taking care of him, and doing very well at the local tracks. Earl drove for me in the 80s and we won 3 or 4 track championships at TST in a row. Told me a lot of stories of him larry Moore and Charlie, had to be more fun then, than now. Met CJ down at speed weeks at the dirt tracks, quite a character. You fellows had a hell of a racer who came down a few times, can't think of his name from Hubsted, spelling wrong, think he moved a little south and has a grain elevator and still races some, dang can't think of his name
