Well, they were trying to pull super b's. I think the driver thought the truck idled too much as he idled down the highway on derate. LOL
Doesn't matter what they were pulling......the ecm only let's the engine run for a set amount for time before it de rates because it doesn't get any def to inject. Were/are there issues where something like this happens, yes! Without being there to see everything its hard to point why it happened. They did have some problems with heater circuits, possible they had them.
There is always those "growing pains" and built on Monday/Friday units that never do work properly(boy you could be a millionaire if you could solve that issue!!! LOL) have had more units down with the DPF then DEF by a very large amount. Neither system is perfect but the DEF system has been more reliable so far.
I do get a kick out of the guys that complain about how's DEF is SUCH A HASSLE. Go buy a DPF unit and wait for it to plug then remove, send in to be cleaned, reinstall and have dealer reset the ecm......
Those are the "emmissions compliant" options......if you don't like either....DONT BUY ONE!!! |
