The limit moves make someone a lot of money with no real reason for the very fast move. "Thinly traded" and "lack of liquidity" mean easily manipulated. Big traders can make quick, market changing moves in their favor before a producer even knows what's happening. It's "portfolio management" not reacting to some market forces.
