Re ads. sometime in the early 30's(I think), R.W. Wrigley was asked by a reporter as Wrigley traveled by rail on business: "Why do you continue to advertise so much-everyone knows your product?". Wrigley's reply: "why don't they disconnect the locomotive from this train & let the train go on its way?"...ans: MOMENTUM
Also, if you looked at college marketing books, you might find the example of FORD, who, by their marketing people, have not sold a car since 1957....... They sell IMAGE, PLEASURE, SELF-SATISFACTION, an EXPERIENCE, etc
