Have always dug the area under the pipe out 6-8" deeper than the grade of the pipe and filled this with #6 stone or stone that doesn't take much to compact. Then prefer 12" of cover over pipe. This is for double wall plastic or galv pipe. The ones that I have replaced because ends rise up is usually do to the center siking in mud...

ADS pipe is more rigid....can stand back hoe out rigger on it and hardly dent it but Havilland seems to collapse but same "spec"
