Subject: RE: Following Up On Fired Cartoonist

After reading all the posts on this topic, I had to think about all the issues I face as a small farmer and then about the free enterprise system that has made this country the greatest country in all the world. The United States has been building this great system for over 200 years now and some believe it is a broken system thus bringing the once Taboo thought of communism being brought in to our politics.
In the world we live in now we have multiple companies worth well over a billion dollars, they didn't get that big without using the free enterprise system at its best and if a person of interest has caught the eye of a half a dozen of those companies want that person, that person is going to be whatever the highest bidder is willing to pay, that is just how the free enterprise system works.
I believe that greed has worked itself into this system and is creating a big gap between those at the top and those at the bottom, but as long as this system is in existence all one has to do is work harder or smarter to get what you want. which is a much better system than our good buddy Bernie Sanders is offering our country. when you take the free enterprise system away and put in an equality system(socialism/communism) then nobody has the incentive to work hard enough to make anything better, because nothing you do will make your situation better or worse so why work any harder than you have to too make a difference.
Greed has been the downfall of this free enterprise system. what I mean by this is (pointing to crop inputs) we have Deere for example, making billions of dollars every 1/4 charging around $500,000.00 for a new combine, tractor, or sprayer, they have farmers over a barrel. We need this equipment to survive, but most will never be able to pay for such equipment now. Corn seed from $80/bag to over $300/bag and the seed companies showing the same profits. then you hear them laying off thousands of employees because profits went down a little. that is greed, and no two ways to look at it.
Some here point out no body is worth the hundreds of millions that they are being paid and maybe they are right, but short of communism what other system would be better? Free enterprise may not be perfect but its still the best. work hard and be all that you can be, work smart and be better than you ever thought possible. Work steady and be content with yourself and be happy where your at in life and you may not get rich but you will live a good life and at the end you will be able to look back on your deeds when standing before God and He will look down and say "Well done good and faithful servant.
