I think your on to something... Everything is done for a reason... Good CEOs are competitive and if one billion dollar company says we cap your pay at 4xs what the average worker makes...

He's out the door at another billion dollar job before you finish the sentence...

And you can't have a billon dollar company tripping over a few hundred dollars with its leader a person capable but not as good as the previous CEO might cost the company millions of dollars and they think they are saving money because they paid the position less?

Think of a 6000 acre farmer..,

If they save $10/acre by shopping around they just paid their salary.

If they save $30/acre because they shot offers to companies bidding for their business they earned every bit of that extra money.

And that's just a million dollar business... Billion with a B are those numbers times 100

And now you start to understand how a CEO can be worth millions of dollars
