Amazes me how some don't know much abut siphoning.I guess we didn't have much for toys as kids but played around with pieces of garden hose in the livestock tank......The outlet needs to be below the surface of the water that the inlet is submerged into.
I remember seeing a fellow who made a post auger/ sand point well and put a suction pump on top of 40 foot of -pipe and couldn't get any water out. I think vacuum will only lift water about 29 foot here if I remember correctly.
