West Central Ohio		There are usually two or more patents on most seed beans. 1)herb tolerance 2) genetic

Correct rr1 parent expired and you can use freely. Most seed still has a generic patent. That patent can not be grown for seed use.

You should be able to determine if seed you are purchasing has one, other, or both patents.
