S.C. Wisconsin | My great grandfather homesteaded in Hartington Nebraska about in 1860. In their library they had microfiche newspapers. I found an article that listed the township and section where he lived. I hooked up with the historical society in Hartington and they had an old Plat book with his name mispelled. I went to the register of deeds and they had records of where his farm was and when he sold it.I found the old homestead. The buildings were abandoned but it was a great trip. I have to thank the people in Hartington for being so helpful. Good luck. | |
