Mohawk Indiana | Our situation is just different I guess. Just grain farming we have times when we can just close the barn doors for several days at a time and chill out here doing whatever seems natural. No hired help so don't have to manage/entertain them.
We built our house 28 years ago, ended up with another house when we divided Dads stuff when he died 5 years ago and bought the farm next door 3 years ago and got yet another house. Son lives in one, niece lives in another. Point is I find nothing relaxing about owning another house.
We are far enough south of you that our blasts of winter our a lot shorter than those in Wisconsin.
We've traveled, been to Hawaii,Alaska, the Northeast etc., longest we've been gone is about 15 days and that's plenty long enough for me.
When you guys go to LHC you just live more than vacation, so the only cost you really have over being home is depreciation on the Motorhome and travel expense back and forth.
BTW whenever any of you guys are in transit I always say an extra little prayer.
Finally I have this picture in my mind of a bunch of retired dairy farmers in the desert on Razrs riding and each one getting a little more daring and pushing the envelope a little more, taking bigger and bigger chances, when finally one of them turns to another and says "Here hold my Milk"
Good Luck! | |
