Eastern Nebraska | Yeah it is no different than then wanting x amount of kids in their special education courses so they don't lose grants and fed money.
They are trying to pass a 20 mil dollar bond right now to "update their facilities" including update the press box at the football field(2.2mil) and build a new soccer field(1.25 mil). Replace bleachers that have nothing wrong with them other than they aren't plastic like all of they other ones around and they are 45 years old but still look nice. They just passed a 20 mil bond in 2006 to build a new school that they thought they needed and have to close different schools because the student numbers are dropping.
4.3% tax increase for 20 years.
a person that owns 1,000 acres valued at $6,270 would increase taxes by $2,690 per year
=$53,800 over 20 years.
That could be a good start to a retirement fund for someone.
There's starting to be a lot of vote no signs around...probably not near as many as the vote yes though. | |
