Southeast WI | It's the worst damn thing that ever happened for districts that are on the suburban edge like ours. People think they are too smart for small fairly rural districts and open enroll to bigger schools taking almost 7 grand out of our district per kid. Unless you need special classes for your child they are going to get a strong education no matter where they attend school in WI. I sat on our school board for 7 years. Hard to balance budgets when you bleed out like this. The mentality is "I'm taking my ball and going elsewhere with it cause it's better over there". It isnt. Transportation IS up to the open enrollee. | |
