| Lots of truth in this post. I've worked for a dealer and I can personally attest to a lot of what you say. I have also been in franchise or contract arrangements with several other large companies (not equipment manufacturers) and I can tell you that they are all the same. They want their franchisee or contract holder to be under tight control. They want them to be around for the long term but they always come up with ways to hold the independents profit down and have more money sent their way. A common thread in all these arrangements is absolute control over marketing, branding and advertising. | |
