Don't be afraid to tell the right person at one of these vendor's what you are doing.
We did that in 04 and got some free seed Bob.
We picked pickup load after pickup load of fresh veggies and gave them to Hope Emergency, a local Catholic based food bank just a few miles down the road. Our work was richly rewarded and should be plenty of free hands to help this year.
