Sorry to say I have no sympathy ------------the laws being enforced are like Pete stated something that would get me fined.. cargo securement is a big deal and I take it no one has ever seen what happens when just a 50 lb sack of seed comes off at the wrong time. I farm and truck so I know both sides of this story and personally I feel the AG exemptions need closed.
Why is my truck dangerous operating commercially under these circumstances but yet the OP feels a farm truck isn't ????? That line of reasoning is flawed if you ask me
I partially agree with you. Though I agree ag exemptions make no sense, I will ad in a state like Illinois licensing and such is out of control. I would love to convince my father to move to semis as they are safer and in almost every way better but the licensing on them even as a farm license is ridiculous, it makes it almost impossible for smaller or middle sized farmers to justify a truck that will only be used one month a year and a day here or there the rest of the year. Thus right or wrong we tend to use lighter trucks with heavy loads. My point is I believe most exemptions are wrong, but the states also seem to make it hard for smaller businesses to compete with regulations and licensing, thus there needs to be a hard look at such laws for everyone. |
