SWIL		4-5 inches seems very deep for a field cultivator pass to me. I'd buy into your "push and walk" theory and would think shallowing up would help this.

*Edit: I noticed the other night with our disk that has a rolling basket that going 4.8-5 mph left the ground significantly smoother than 6.0-6.2 mph.
