Well,
Maybe both actually. I've been looking at the ez 500 with t2 steering and also the Raven and Deere units. Trimble is serviced by Cat in our area, but they are mostly aimed at construction in Spokane, with Ag being the focus in Pasco. Raven is serviced out of Cheney (close to home) and the guys seem to have a realistic view of what is possible in our hills. They claim the current issue in most units is lack of memory size, as with our contour farming there are lots of data points and we don't come back to the same point for a long (1/2 hr to 1 hr or more) period of time. Deere is close in Ritzville and good too. Ag Leader's dealer is a long ways away, so is Autofarm.
I've wondered how accurate the altitude reading would be without an expensive RTK type correction signal. I don't know how accurate xp/hp or sf1/sf2 signals are in regards to altitude. +- 8 feet when setting a contour line while moving wouldn't help much.

Thanks
Art
