I certainly don't think holding 2014 corn until July of 15 payed very good when dec14 futers spent a lot of time over $5.00 during the spring of 14. You lost at least 50cents even if you sold at the high in July of 15 plus you lost at least 50 cents worth of carry and better basis so I would say that you lost at least a dollar by waiting until July of 15 to sell your 14 crop.
