That's simply untrue.  There were multiple times in the 1980s when storing grain led to much better prices.  As always, it's a matter of timing and whether cash flow would allow you to hang on long enough to profit from it. 

Would holding $3.60 1983 corn to sell for $1.60 in 1986 work well?  Of course not, but don't spout off your history lectures without addressing both sides.  Holding 1987 corn to sell in 1988 would have been a grand slam.
