Subject: Wheat acres and South flexing back from Sorghum...

Intended Sorghum acreage is down 1.24 million acres.. mostly in the South.. (Sugar Cane Aphid?)  as well as lower prices.."heck with sorghum" which is also my reaction.. might as well try something that will make a yield.

Arkansas is dropping Sorghum acres 300 k acres bumping corn 230.. TEXAS is dropping Sorghum 400 k acres.. bumping corn 300.. Kansas is dropping Sorghum 250 k acres.. bumping corn 650 (?? really..?? hmm) dropping wheaties 700 k..  Wow TEXAS is dropping wheat acreage 1 myn acres!!  Adding Corn +300

NORTH DAKOTA is dropping intended Spring Wheat acres 950,000.. going to Corn +650..
South Dakota dropping wheaties (all wheat WW HRSW) 472.. adding 300 to corn..

So.. the SOUTH.. looks to be flexing back from Sorghum and Beans to Corn
Louisiana dropping beans 380 less sorghum 11 ADDING 330 to Corn
Arkansas Sorghum -300 to Corn +230
Kentucky -190 beans + 100 to corn
Mizzou looks to get it's corn IN this year.. + 350

And the Plains looks to be flexing Wheat to Corn..

Cornbelt is mostly just flexing back and forth..

Ill + 400 corn + 200 beans.. a little less hay.. (less Prevent Plantings..??)
Iowa +400 corn -150 beans
Indy +150 corn  flat beans (get it IN this year..)
Nebraska + 300 corn -140 wheat

etc.. BIG DECLINES in Wheat Total Acreage DOWN 5.6 MILLION ACRES and Sorghum down 1.24 myn acres going to Corn +5.6 beans down a little 400,000'ish acres.

Wheat down 5,600  Corn up 5,600

Tx -1,000 wheaties  + 300 corn
ND -950  + 650
Ks - 700 + 650 (wow.. surprises even me.. better start raining..)
Montana - 590 .. ?? not corn..
SD - 472  + 300
Ok -300 + 50
Co - 200 + 150

That right there totals 4,212 k acres FROM Wheat To 2,100 k acres of Corn.

edit add: not all that surprising when you think about it.. Ks flexed into Sorghum last year.. hence took us out of wheat.. Sorghum in Ks up 550 k acres.. wheat down 700.. as you really can't stubble back sorghum to Wheat.. over MOST of the state.. (maybe NE you can?)  which sets us up to go back to Corn this year.. probably ditto Texas.. and others..

It's last year's spike in Sorghum acres that is most of the blame.. now they want to follow up with corn for herbacide/rotation.. and get back to wheaties...??? maybe in the future...???
