When you say that putting the hydraulics on standby makes it leak worse, I would look above that valve in the area of the steering hand pump. there is a signal line there that has given a lot of problems over the years on those tractors. The valve you are talking about just has regulated pressure; stroking a remote should make no difference on a leak in that area. Good luck!!
