Near-north Ontario, French River | Golden< Im assuming you are referring to Salford as being junk? Just curious as to what you saw that you didnt like? We run a Salford wing plow, 7 shank and have had only minor issues with it. When we purchased ours wingplows had only been on the market for a year or so, so I believes ours is one of the first models . Only issue we have had is premature wear of the upper pivot point ( where the hydraulic ram pins too),not sure what the issue was but the hole in the mount went egg shaped after about 3 seasons of use. Salford was aware of this and supplied us with weld in bushings ( harder steel??) that have solved that problem. Beyond that we have had zero issues. As Agcofan pointed out the salford does and exceptional job of breaking up the compaction layer, the only drawback being its takes some serious horsepower to do it .We run 170HP MFD on a 7 leg and it can struggle at times in heavily compacted CLAY soils. Maybe other rippers require the same sort of hp but our only experience is with the salford wingplow. http://www.salfordmachine.com/products/downloadvideo.php?id=10
